Cell Production Team

The Cell Production Team is led by Dr. Linh Nguyen. This team produces cells that are used for clinical trials at the Princess Margaret. They have the expertise to translate basic laboratory methods into a manufacturing process that yields a clinical-grade cell product that can be infused into patients under a clinical trial. This expertise includes technology transfer, scale-up of production volumes, sourcing of materials, developing and implementing standard operating procedures, drug stability studies, and adhering to a quality assurance and quality control program. It also includes the preparation of regulatory submissions to Health Canada for approval of the manufacturing process.

The Cell Production Team has experience with production of various clinical-grade immune cell types, including tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), engineered T cells, and dendritic cells. Their work also encompasses basic research, with a focus on investigating the function and regulation of human immune cells in cancer, and it also encompasses translational research, where preclinical laboratory studies are performed to in order to take new findings into clinical trials.
